Yes. Grounded Groomer is fully insured for liability. We take every precaution to ensure the safety of your cat and the protection of your home, giving you complete peace of mind.

Your Cat’s Appointment: What to Expect

How do I book an appointment?

To book, please fill out the contact form on our website [Link to Form] or call us at [Your Phone Number]. Because we schedule our routes by area, we will note your request and contact you with the next available date we will be in your neighbourhood. We will always confirm the specific day with you before finalizing the appointment.

What should I expect on appointment day?

As a mobile service, our schedule can be affected by traffic and the unpredictable nature of working with live animals. For this reason, we provide an arrival window (e.g., “between 10 AM and 1 PM”). Kendelle will always send you a text or call when she is on her way to your home with a more precise ETA.

What do you need from me when you arrive?

To ensure a smooth, safe, and calm grooming session in your home, we ask that you please have a few things ready for Kendelle’s arrival:
A quiet space: A small, well-lit room, like a bathroom is ideal, as it’s secure and has fewer distractions.
A power outlet: Access to a nearby electrical outlet for her professional grooming tools.
One clean towel: This may be used to help comfort or securely handle your cat.
Sink access: For hygienic handwashing before and after the appointment.

What about the mess? Do I have to clean up afterwards?

Not at all. We pride ourselves on respecting your home and leaving it as we found it. After the groom is complete, Kendelle does a thorough cleanup of the immediate grooming space. To do this effectively, she will use your broom or vacuum for a final sweep of the area to ensure no stray fur is left behind.

How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. This allows us to potentially fill the spot, which is critical for a route-based business. Cancellations within this 48-hour window, or if we arrive and no one is home, will be invoiced for 50% of the scheduled service fee.

What payment method do you accept?

We accept Debit, Credit Card, and E-transfer or cash at the time of service.

Health & Behaviour Considerations

How often should my cat be groomed?

This depends on your cat’s breed, coat length, and lifestyle. After the first appointment, Kendelle will provide a personalized recommendation for a grooming schedule. We can then set up a recurring appointment based on the route schedule for your area.

My cat is very anxious or has a history of aggression. Can you help?

Yes. It is crucial that you inform us of any history of aggression when booking. Kendelle is trained to work with anxious cats with patience and skill. In some cases, for the cat’s own safety, we may recommend you speak with your veterinarian about a mild sedative like Gabapentin for future appointments.

Do you groom senior cats or cats with chronic health conditions?

Yes, with special care. We have experience with senior cats who may have arthritis or limited mobility, as well as cats with common health issues. It is essential that you disclose any health conditions when booking so Kendelle can tailor the groom to be as gentle and low-stress as possible. We will always prioritize a cat’s comfort over cosmetic perfection.

My cat’s coat is matted. Will you brush the mats out?

We will not perform extensive de-matting. This process is painful, damages their sensitive skin, and destroys trust. The only humane solution for a matted coat is to shave the affected areas or the full coat, allowing it to regrow healthily.

How might my cat behave after being groomed?

Most cats feel wonderful and immediately start showing off their clean coat. Occasionally, a cat who has had a “lion cut” or significant shaving may act a little differently for a day or two as they get used to the new sensation. This is normal. The best thing you can do is offer them a cozy spot and some positive reinforcement. They will be back to their usual selves quickly.
